CAR RENTAL IN CUBA - USEFUL INFORMATION

  • When picking up the car at the Cubacar, Havanautos, VIA or REX rental point, you must present your driving license (normal driving license is fine, international driving license is not required) and your passport for signing the contract rental.
  • You will be asked to pay the SOLAMENYE deposit by Visa or Mastercard credit card (prepaid cards are not accepted and cash is not accepted) from 150 to 300 USD depending on the category booked.
  • You will be asked to pay the Insurance which is mandatory and costs from 10 to 30 USD approximately per day based on the confirmed category (amount not required if the insurance is already INCLUDED in the rental price)
  • If the car is picked up at the airport there is an additional cost of 20-25 USD to pay
  • FULL-EMPTY The car is delivered with a full tank of fuel and a prepayment of fuel is required (the amount may vary depending on the tank capacity from a minimum of 50 USD up to 100 USD), it is then possible to return the 'empty car (ATTENTION the remaining fuel will not be refunded)
  • FULL-FULL The car is delivered with a full tank of fuel and no prepayment of fuel is required. it is then mandatory to return the car with a full tank. If the fuel is less than what is present in the delivery phase, the cost per difference will be charged.
  • If the car is returned to a different point from that of collection, the cost of the DROP OFF must be paid, below are the indicative costs:
  • It is possible to include an additional driver in the contract at a cost of 3 USD per day or 30 USD in total (the cost varies depending on the renter)
  • The insurance covers damage to the vehicle, fire, total or partial theft, accidents, natural disasters, damage to third party property and injury to third parties. Immediate reporting to the competent authorities is mandatory. Even if the authorities were to assign the blame for the accident to the customer. The insurance does not cover the theft of the car radio, the 5 car tires (4 + spare wheel) or the windscreen wipers. For this reason it is recommended to always park the car in safe places.
  • Delivery delays: if the delivery of the car takes place after the 59th minute of the pre-established time, every extra hour (from 1 to 5) will be charged with 1/5 of the public rate (3/6 days). For deliveries with a delay of more than 6 hours, the extra day + 1 day of insurance will be charged.
  • For loss of the contract we charge 50.00 USD for each lost sheet (contract consisting of 2 sheets)
  • It is strongly recommended that you keep a copy of the contract that will be issued to you when you pick up the car.
  • Useful tips: it is recommended to drive during the day as the island is poorly lit at night, it is recommended to drive carefully and at limited speed, paying attention to pedestrians and / or cyclists on the sides of the road. It is recommended to refuel frequently as there are few fuel distribution centers on the island. The navigator does not work, therefore the use of a road map is recommended.
  • For any breakdowns of the car during the rental period or any type of problem, contact the 24h emergency center at the number indicated on the rental contract
  • The renter can change the amounts (Deposit, Insurance, Drop Off, delays) without notice. EASY KUBA is not responsible for any changes to these amounts. However, if we are notified, we will notify the customer as soon as possible.
  • We would like to point out that if the car collection office is closed, contact the assistant immediately at the number indicated in the news sheet
  • ATTENTION: if for any reason you do not show up at the car collection office on the day and time indicated on the voucher, your booking will be canceled and the car will no longer be available and nothing will be refunded. For this reason, we invite you to report to the collection office on time. In the event that you collect your car at the airport upon arrival of your flight, we invite you to inform us of the flight details and any time changes following the confirmation of the car rental.
  • Our reservations are all guaranteed but in the high season there may be delays in the delivery of the cars independent of our will. We recommend that you go to the rental point in advance. In case of delay, contact our on- site assistance.
